Hand Care in a Man’s World

For the majority of men, hand and nail care is way down the list of things to do after a day at work. But for those who work extensively with their hands (e.g. on a farm, on the factory floor or in construction… not at a desk) dry, rough, chapped hands can be as painful as they are unsightly. A simple hand and nail care routine could keep troublesome hand worries at bay (even if the tools and skin care products are stealthily hidden away between applications!)

Dry/Calloused Palms
Those men who spend a lot of time lifting or doing repetitive strenuous tasks can be left with very dry, rough callous-covered palms. Obviously the urge to pick at the dry skin is strong, but it takes no time at all for that idle picking to become a wound, causing still more damage and discomfort.

Alternatively to potential infection and ongoing pain, soak hands in warm soapy water 3-5 minutes before gently pumicing-away obvious dry skin. Soak hands again for 3-5 minutes, let them air-dry for about 2 minutes, then gently rub off any further excess skin with a sponge or rough cloth.

General Roughness
For those unwilling to invest in a specific skin care hand softener, a weekly massage (or at the end of a particularly labour-intensive day) in vegetable oil is an age-old smoothness-inducing trick. Soak hands for 1 minute, massage for between 3-5 minutes (or longer if the adverts aren’t on yet), and finish with a rinse in warm soapy water. Don’t dry hands roughly. Dab dry using a soft towel.

Nails
Biting fingernails and the skin around them is very satisfying. True. But keeping nails neatly trimmed, free from nicks and flaking skin, is an issue of workplace safety as well as grooming.

Protect Your Hands

First of all, make sure you protect your hands from all the possible damages. Use rubber gloves when doing housework or gardening in order to avoid getting in touch with the chemicals.

Stay away from extreme weather conditions. In summer, you should use a hand cream that contains UV protection and in winter, use a deep conditioning cream as often as possible. Also, make sure you wear gloves in the chilly weather.

Treat Your Hands

Start by nourishing from the inside out. Keep a healthy lifestyle and provide all the vitamins your body needs in order to keep a healthy look. This way, you’ll nourish your hair and nails to. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and condition with a good hand cream after each hand wash.

Do regular workouts to balance your blood circulation and stimulate cell regeneration. It is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, so keep your body fit and youthful.

Try the homemade hand treatments and nail soaks, which will nourish and treat your hands with their 100% natural ingredients.

Use a scrub to remove dead skin cells because once in a while, your hands need to be exfoliated to. It will also stimulate blood circulation and cell regeneration. You can opt for homemade scrubs as well, which work just as good as the ones you can buy.

Maintain your hands in a proper condition and enjoy their healthy youthful appearance. They are part of your look, completing your beauty. Having them visible all the time also means exposing them to external factors, so make sure you protect them. Keep your hands well treated and enjoy a soft and smooth touch.

Teenagers’ 5 Essential Skincare Giudelines

Every person should learn to take care of his or her skin properly. If you are a teenager, it’s time that you start taking care of your skin. Teenagers should learn healthy skincare habits because they are in a stage where a lot of bodily changes are taking place. During your teenage years, you may expect your skin to be oilier and more prone to breakouts. Luckily, healthier skin can be accomplished by using natural treatments like argan oil skin products or any skincare products that are widely available. Also, consider the following skincare tips aside from using the right products:

Know what skin type you have

The most basic thing you need to do to take care of your skin properly is to understand your skin type. Determining the right skin care products for you is easier when you are familiar about your skin. People have different skin types; some are oily while others are dry. This variation should be your point of reference in choosing the right skincare product.

Protect your skin from the sun

Your skin becomes dry and damaged when you expose it too much to the sun. Skin can become dry, red and irritated, sun burned, and more prone to skin cancer if you do not protect it from the sun. If you are planning to go out under the sun, always remember to apply sunscreen with at least SPF 15. Protecting your skin will also reduce the likelihood of early aging.

Use only the right facial cleanser for your skin

Don’t use regular body soap for washing your face or the same bar of soap that you use while you shower. There are harsh ingredients in soaps than can result to dry or irritated skin. A proper way to avoid dry or irritated skin is to use a facial cleanser that suits your skin type. By using this product, the dirt and excess oil on your skin will be removed. Wash your face twice a day, preferable in the morning and before bedtime, with the use of the cleanser. It may also be used to remove cosmetics at night.

Moisturize

It’s actually false to think that moisturizing is good only for people with dry skin. If you have oily skin, you can still enjoy the benefits of moisturizing by choosing a light moisturizing product that is oil-free. There are also moisturizers that already contain SPF so it serves a dual purpose of hydrating your skin and keeping it safe from the harmful effects of the sun. Apply the moisturizer after you have washed and dried your face with a soft towel. Applying moisturizers once a day is advisable for people who have very oily skin.

Add exfoliation to your weekly skin care routine

To deep clean the pores, use exfoliating masks. Getting rid of dry skin and dead skin cells can also be done by using exfoliating masks. For a fresh and younger- looking skin, exfoliate your skin at least once or twice a week with the use of these products. Always avoid over-scrubbing as this can only cause further breakouts and can irritate your skin.

Beautiful skin looks and feels wonderful once you know how to properly take care of it.
