Have you ever wondered why there are so many types of acne medication available out there? The truth is, each of us has a different skin composition and condition that require different type of medication for treatment purpose.
The medication that you should take will depends on what type of acne problem that you’re experiencing. There are basically four types of acne medication available for you to choose from, namely oral contraceptives or topical medicines, isotrtinoin and antibiotics. If you’re considering going for topical medication, you will need to realize this involve several types of medicated lotions. It helps you to kill the bacteria accumulating on your skin while in the same time removing the excessive oil. You can usually get them easily over the counter drugs store. You should only resort to isotretinoin when everything else does not bring in any result. But it is advisable that you seek a professional consultation from your doctor before you decide to get it as your acne treatment. This medication is especially risky for pregnant women as it might cause birth defects. Other than that, you can also go for antibiotics if you’re looking for acne treatment. It help you to get rid of the bacteria residing under your skin. You will probably have to take it for some time before it show any effect and remove acne for you. Most people will go for antibiotic as their option as it is much safer compared to other type of acne medication.

From the research I do on skin care, I noticed there is a big demand for paraben free products. The question is, what is paraben and why should we avoid it? To start with, these are a family of substances that are widely used today as preservatives in cosmetics such as shampoos, makeup, lotions. They may be known as propylparaben, ethylparaben and butylparaben and their function is to offer protection against infection under conditions of use and prevent the multiplication of germs in the products. While other substances such as alcohols (e.g. ethyl and isopropyl), phenols and essential oils have traditionally been used for hundreds of years as preservatives, the parabens are now the most commonly used preservatives in the United States. As of now, an estimated 75 to 90 percent of cosmetics contain these substances. Just consider that, after water, they are the most frequently used ingredient in skin care products. For a long time, parabens had been considered harmless. However, a study that was published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology in 2004, reported them to be a cause for concern. British researchers found traces of it in twenty women who had breast tumors. According to other research as well, these notorious preservatives are believed to act like the female hormone estrogen. In high amounts, estrogen can cause some women to develop breast cancer. The obvious question you might have at this point is the following: Provided it is clinically proven that parabens pose a threat to our health, why are they still used by skin care companies, not excluding the high profile brands? Well, the answer is simple: Being cheap preservatives, these substances lengthen the shelf life of the products. Longer shelf life leads to higher possibility of the products being purchased, thus leading to higher sales for the company! After I found out what is paraben and the potential health risk I would expose myself to, I made the conscious decision to use only paraben free products. From the various forums and blogs on the internet that deal with skin care issues, I was particularly happy to realize that a growing number of other consumers were equally concerned and reached the same decision as well. The next question would be: How can you tell paraben free products? Well, what you can do first is to look closely at the ingredients list and see whether it includes any of the paraben variations mentioned above. If you don’t see any, then find out which company makes the product you use. See if they have an ingredient list available on the product itself or on the company’s web site. Alternatively, you can try emailing or calling the company and ask them if their product contains parabens.

Maintaining youthful skin with body lotions as we age isn’t a medical mystery. It’s perfectly attainable even for the average person to keep a healthy skin tone and texture into old age with these types of products. How do we do it? These body lotions, especially certain types of green tea body lotions, do wonders for our skin in the long term. These types of plant-based lotions and products are rich in anti-oxidants which help with the anti-aging process. There are other types of body lotions and products that we’ll discuss in this article that do great things for your skin, while providing you with the silky skin texture that you want to attain.

Along with body lotions, body butters are essential in keeping our skin healthy and lubricated. Body butters keep our skin soft and supple, which reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other fine lines such as crow’s feat. Many of these body butters, when used along with body lotions, contribute to skin care through the removal of free radicals, while providing the skin with essential vitamins and nutrients.

Body creams are another type of product, when used in conjunction with certain types of body lotions, that provide our skin with the moisture it needs in order to keep wrinkles and sun-caused blemishes away. Body creams, much like body lotions and butters, soften the skin and provide certain types of vitamins (namely, vitamin E) to our skin to help it regenerate after exposure to the sun or other environmental pollutants.

Body washes should be an essential part of a person’s skin care arsenal. Most types of body washes contain moisturizers that battle the aging process, while also unclogging pores and helping to remove dead skin. These body washes remove oil and dirt from the skin, giving it a natural, healthier appearance versus the use of normal bar soap.

Using body scrubs along with body washes is another way to slough off old skin while opening pores and allowing your body lotions to do their work easier. This opening of your pores allows those body lotions to more easily seep in, better moisturizing your skin to deeper levels.

Green tea body lotions are all the rave right now, and should be looked into if you’re looking for a product that will all but revolutionize the way that your skin looks and feels. Not only is green tea a powerful anti-oxidant (as mentioned above), it helps your skin rebuild collagen that may have been damaged by excessive UV-A and UV-B exposure.

Acne can make you feel miserable. The alarming red spots, the repulsive swelling, psychological stress and the agony to top it all is too much to gulp. A skin condition, which is dreaded by all from teenagers to adults, is caused when oil and dead skin cells block the skin’s pores. And this automatically leads to blemishes in the skin, which become red and swollen. To overcome this skin problem, lets find out how to remove red spots from acne from home.
Acne is highly prevalent in teens while women are most vulnerable to acne in their 40s or 50s. You can either fall victim to mild acne or even severe acne. However, severe acne is dangerous enough to leave scars forever. Now, prior to the outbreak of acne you will find some small red spots developing in certain areas. These eventually grow into pimples containing degraded fatty acids.
Some homemade remedies
All of this calls for an effective treatment. Treatment can be done in your home. All that is required from you is to wash your face twice a day with a soft cleanser. Do not let sweat and dirt sit on your skin because this might as well lead to acne eruption. Picking or squeezing pimples is the worst thing to do; it worsens the pimples giving way to scars.
Try to keep away from sunlight so as to do away with the redness of your pimples. A water-based moisturizer is recommended. Oily creams and foundations that block the pores are out of the question. Maintain a healthy diet and indulge in lots of water and not to mention regular exercises.
Besides, homemade remedies are quite effective as it is the natural way to treat acne. Masks, facials, pack and cleansers made out of homegrown stuff are precisely what you need. All of you, who have oily skin, apply the liquefied core of two crisp apples to your face for a few minutes before you wash it off. Your skin will be revitalized like never before. A mixture of two large bananas with a one-tablespoon of raw honey makes an excellent mask for your lackluster skin.
Moreover, try your hands at a light massage of rose and sevti flowers extract thrice a day. You will find that baking soda paste can be used as a gentle exfoliator while hydrocortisone cream to reduce swelling. Lemon juice, toothpaste, raw garlic, vinegar etc. are some of the other good home stuff that takes off that redness from the pimples.
You will see the redness of your pimples vanish away in thin air with the above-mentioned remedies.

It’s a fact that acne is one of the most harmful skin disorders among both teens and adults as well. Not only does it affects people physically but acne has the potential to cause psychological effects, which can be even more devastating. We know there are many products available to treat acne. Some of these treatments include over-the-counter cleansers, creams, etc. And while many mild forms of acne can be treated by some over-the-counter products, more severe types of acne may require medical attention. So, how can you know when to seek medical attention to treat your acne? It is important to properly care for acne and take the necessary steps to treat and prevent it, but it is also important to know when your acne requires you to see a dermatologist. The decision to seek medical attention to treat your acne takes into account several things. Among the most important factors you should consider when deciding to seek medical attention for your acne is the fact of how you feel about your acne and how it’s affecting you, and the medical facts surrounding your acne condition. In the case you are the victim of a very severe form of acne such as cystic acne and none of the products you’ve tried to treat it have worked for you, then there’s no reason why you should hesitate to see a doctor for special treatment. Severe acne can cause real damage to your skin if you don’t treat it properly before it’s too late. For one thing, severe acne may leave permanent scars! And this is one of the most important reasons why you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. Medical treatment may help reduce scarring. Acne scars come in different types, and appear on some people while others do not have them. In men, scars on the face and neck may make shaving difficult. Shaving can irritate scars, especially larger, more prominent ones, and can further irritate the skin. How are acne scars treated? There are two factors taken in consideration to treat acne scars: the type of acne you have, and your skin type. Both of these factors play an important role in how your acne scars are treated. The best way to prevent acne scars is to prevent acne, so you should find what works for you and stick to it. If you have cystic acne, a more severe type of acne, there’s no doubt you will have to see an acne skin care professional. Painful cysts may need to be drained by a physician. This type of acne usually requires medical attention because of its severity. It can also last for months and cause a good deal of discomfort to sufferers of this form of severe acne. Acne can also have negative psychological effects on people. And sometimes these psychological effects are much more difficult to deal with than the actual physical scarring. For many acne sufferers, acne can cause them to become anxious or depressed, affected by what those around them think and how they are perceived. They may also fear how others see them, and feel there is no cure for their condition. This is especially true in adults because many feel their acne should have cleared up after adolescence, or shouldn’t have occurred during adulthood. This is the reason why many of them often stay away from attending social events to avoid placing themselves in a situation where they might feel inferior. So, it is critical to seek medical attention in these cases. Having the help of a professional doctor will not only help treat the physical effects created by acne but he/she will also help sooth the psychological ones as well. Seeking medical attention as early as possible can save you many unwanted surprises in the future. This is especially true for teenagers who suffer from acne. It has been proven that teens that suffer from acne early on can usually expect it to worsen as they get older. And in the worst-case scenario, their acne condition can even continue on into adulthood! Many times the consequences are so devastating that more severe types of acne can form. Again, we go back to what we’ve discussed earlier, by seeking medical attention, scarring can be prevented earlier on in the course of the condition. Acne is a very serious skin disorder. So it’s vital to seek medical attention. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t sure. Even if prescription medications aren’t necessary, a doctor can help you find a treatment that works best for you, and you will be on your way to recovery, which is obviously the ultimate goal.
It is often the emotional or psychological effects rather than the red spots or disfigured skin which leave the greatest scars. Creams and potions, face peels and masks can be excellent physical cures, but learning to live with yourself can be the hard part.

Since acne is so common in teenage years, the social insecurity amongst teenagers is significant in shaping social activity. For teenagers living through the trauma of acne, it is often difficult to accept the social impacts that acne brings. Spots can be seen as marks of shame, cause depression and even lead to self-pity. Parent of teenagers who face this problem are integral to providing the help a person needs. So as a parent, what can you do?

1. You can remind your children that acne is a temporary condition – As a guardian or a parent you should be aware of what is happening and give encouragement. You may see them unhappy because of the way in which people criticise or tease. Remember to tell them that acne and poor skin conditioning will not last long and that in time the condition will be cleared up. Continue to explain how important it is to move on and ignore comments despite any negative reaction from other people. Words are not important over time.

2. Take your teenager to a dermatologist – You should never wait for your teenager’s acne to develop into a problem or get worse. Be proactive and take him or her to see a dermatologist. It is important to do this earlier rather than later. And, you need to use a dermatologist who engenders your trust. Go to see them with your child as they progress through their treatment with their dermatologist.

3. Guide your teenager or child to be responsible – There are some activities that may make acne worse. Make sure that you are close enough physically and spiritually to be in a position to remind them of their responsibilities. Explain the reasons behind acne and be sure to answer any questions that your teenager has.

4. Boost your teenager’s self-image – Self-confidence plunges when others mock and tease. The effect on any teenager can be bitter, so as a parent or guardian you really need to be there to counteract the loss of self-esteem he or she faces. Be generous with your praises but do not spoil your child. Tell your teen about how wonderful his or her talent is. This would be a lift to his/her morale.

You are a parent, and you can help your teenager to feel better about themselves even as a person with acne. Remind them that this is just a stage; it will surely come to an end. Be there and support your child like no one else can.

Acne can be very frustrating. Many teens and even adults deal with acne. Both occasional and frequent acne can be embarrassing and make people feel self-conscious. When you have acne, you simply feel that you don’t look your best. Anyone with acne is eager to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, there are acne cures that anyone can use. These are not “magic” cures that involve spending hundreds of dollars on some fancy potion. One of the most important keys to removing your acne is being consistent about using each of these cures as part of your daily life. Once you adapt these acne cures into your life, you’ll soon discover that acne is a thing of the past!

Use An Acne Cleanser With Salicylic Acid. Salicylic acid is one of the most popular acne treatment ingredients today. It is quite useful in relieving both teens and adults of their acne. It is important to follow the directions when using products with salicylic acid, as this is a strong ingredient used in the treatment of acne. Some of the products require that you use them twice a day and others suggest only once a day. Follow their directions for best results.

Drink Plenty of Water. Water helps to flush toxins from our bodies. One of the places we see toxins is on our skin and right on our faces, in the form of acne. When your system is out of balance, you’ll discover acne is one of the results. Upping your intake of water can help flush the toxins gently from your body in an easy and healthy way that is natural for your system. There is no need to try harsh or “forced” toxin removal systems. Water is one of the easiest ways to remove toxins. You’ll feel great with plenty of water in your system too!

Eat a Healthy Diet. Many teens (and okay, adults too) wind up relying on fast food meals or other quick pick-me-ups. Sugary drinks and fattening foods are a quick road to a complexion full of acne. A diet that is healthy and balanced is not only good for your entire system, but your skin will glow with healthy radiance. You’ll be quite pleased with the results. Be sure to get enough protein, dairy, grains and at least five to seven fruits and vegetable servings each day.

Teenage Girls: Remove Makeup Daily. One of the challenges with any teenager’s schedule is that they run from activity to activity. At the end of the day, sometimes they just fall into bed, getting ready to do it all over the next day. For beautiful skin, it is very important to remove all of your makeup each and every night. Makeup can clog your pores and cause impurities. Simply using gentle soap and water to wash your makeup off only takes a moment, but it will often keep you from getting a bad breakout. Take that extra moment and you’ll be pleased with the results.

Many acne cures are easy and quite practical. Using these acne cures over the course of several weeks will have your skin glowing and looking healthier than before. You’ll be quite pleased with the results when you try an acne cure you know will work!
If you are a teen and have acne, it is practically natural for your age. But, of course, teen acne problem is not pleasant as any other ones. Statistical examinations suggest that more than 80% of teens usually face teen acne problem during their adolescent years. Acne seems to be a common problem even among people over 25–30. Regardless of how common the problem, you would prefer to live an acne free life. Acne create many problems many as physical so emotional. Let’s look through some primary factors that influence your amenability to acne: • Enlarged adenoid glands produce biological skin fat. Enlarged glands are common during adolescence. These glands are mainly concentrated in face, upper back and chest. • Bacterial growth. The bacterial growth in the face, back and related areas in conjunction with enlarged pores and skin oil overproduction result acne. • Dermal irritation (shaving, for example), usually brings to bacterial growth. Sometimes an eruption occurs as skin cells and follicles become inflamed due to bacterial growth. • Blocked hair follicles due to an overproduction of skin cells referred to as “keratinocytes”. These skin cells form a plug in the follicle, that results acne. • Hormonal changes that are significant for the teen years are often responsible for teen acne formation. Teens usually produce more biological skin fat than adults, resulting an increasing of acne total amount. Some substances including oil-based cosmetics may cause blocking of pores with superfluous skin fat and promote acne. Even excess humidity and moisture on the skin can contribute to contraction of acne disease. There are many various treatments of acne skin . The necessary treatment method will depend on the type of acne you have. It is important to look for a treatment method that is most likely to be effective. Try to go without medications because all of them cause usually cause some side effects. The easiest to treat are whitehead or blackhead pimples. It is the least of all heartrending type of acne. This type acne treatment comes to the appropriate skin clearance in any appropriate form of a cream, gel or lotion. This care is usually enough for teen acne. Some more severe forms of the whitehead or blackhead pimple may cause mechanical removal and more deep acne form – comedo as the result. The clearance procedure for comedo should be carried by a dermatologist or family physician. Keep eyes open, hand-pick treating methods and you’ll blossom forth.
Teen acne has long been a problem for generations past and present. If your teenager is dealing with acne, most likely they are suffering unnecessary stress and embarrassment too. Unfortunately, the extra stress can also lead to extra acne.

Although acne is a day to day problem, it can cause long term skin damage. Many teenagers will squeeze or pick at the acne, leading to permanent scarring. Thankfully, the good is that today’s teenagers don’t have to suffer through their acne. There are many products on the market, such as the PCA Acne Kit, that can eliminate bacteria and shrink pimples, giving the skin much needed relief and ultimately clearing and healing the complexion.

What Is Causing The Acne?

Acne commonly starts in the early teenage years. This is due to an increase in production of skin oil from the natural oil glands. When normal dead skin cells mix with the oil, it causes pores to become clogged. There are actually two types of pimples: whiteheads and blackheads. A whitehead happens when the oil and dead skin cells clog the pores or hair follicles. Blackheads occur when the pores or hair follicles are clogged closer to the surface of the skin and get exposed to the air. A worse type of acne, called cystic acne, happens when the follicle wall breaks deep within the skin and causes cysts to form. Each type of acne or pimples can be cleared with the right treatment.

Helping Your Teenager Control Acne

There are so many reasons why teenagers cannot seem to find relief from their acne. With very busy lifestyles and natural impatience, teenagers will likely have a difficult time maintaining a consistent acne treatment regimen. Forgetfulness also plays a major role in teenagers keeping up with an acne treatment that will help to clear their skin.

The keys to really healing and clearing the skin is consistency, along with finding the right acne skin care regimen that will work for your teenager. A treatment with specific steps like the PCA Acne Kit is probably the easiest solution for managing and healing your teenager’s acne problems. With this type of treatment your teenager will have specific products to use in a certain order such as a cleanser, an acne cream, a mask, and other products and steps that will help to establish a daily routine.

Quick Tips For Your Teenager

Just remember not to let your teenager take matters into their own hands. Squeezing or picking at pimples can cause permanent acne scars. Continue to stress the importance of remaining consistent and maintaining the acne therapy every single day at the appropriate times. Consistency is key – so buying the right teen acne treatment regimen like the PCA Acne Kit is an important step in achieving clear and healthy skin. Remind your teenager that he or she is not alone! Understand that problem acne can cause emotional issues for your teenager and can affect his or her social life. Tell your teenager that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that if they continue to cleanse and treat the problem, it will eventually go away – leaving them with fresh, clean skin in the end.

Most of the skin problems appear while being still teenagers. If we treat it well, than we might as well get rid of the daily torture of hiding our flaws. Each skin is different, each skin reacts in different ways to the skin care treatments. Here are a few tips and treatment advice for the main skin types: oily, combination skin and dry. Find the one that matches best your skin and start fighting against your enemies. Oily Skin Care The oily skin is the most common one. It is shiny, thick and dull colored, with enlarged pores. It also has a great tendency for all the skin problems , breakouts and acne, mostly because it attracts all the dirt. For this reason, the main treatment for an oily skin would be to clean it properly. Warm oil and exfoliation helps to unclog the pores and an antibacterial cleansing lotion would also be a great help. Use water based cosmetics instead of oily based ones and apply clay masks regularly. But avoid over drying your skin, because it will make it produce even more oil and you’ll get the opposite result you were trying to reach for. Another good thing, would be starting a diet rich in proteins, leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Also, don’t forget to drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin and help it eliminate the toxins. As for the oily skin makeup , try to use shine control cosmetics, and foundations that won’t clog your pores. For the matte finish, use a translucent face powder. If the problem persists, visit a dermatologist. Avoid alcohol, smoking, chocolate and junk food. Combination Skin Care A mixed skin means different type of skin to deal with. Usually it’s the T-zone that characterizes it: oily forehead, nose, chin and even cheek. The rest of the face is either normal, or dry. This is why it needs special care: treating the oily zones and hydrating the other ones. Most of the time, acne and blackheads are the main problems of an oily T-zone, as well as shiny skin. So start treating it by cleaning it properly by cleansing it with pore minimizer at least twice a day and moisture the rest of your face with the same regularity. Also, when using a mask, you should use two different ones for the two different skin types you have. The best choice would be a clay mask for the oily part of your skin and a moisturizer, deep hydrating mask for the dry areas. Balance is the key for your perfect complexion. As for makeup, look for a foundation designed specially for combination skin and you might as well use a powder on the oily zones to control shine. Use UV protection each day of the year. Dry Skin Care Having dry skin, makes us more prone to early aging and any other damaging factors. The skin is dehydrated, with cracking signs and a dull look. It makes an uncomfortable feeling because its tightness. Avoid washing your skin with water, instead, use thermal water and soft wash clothes to avoid irritating it. Use night creams, thick daily moisturizers and sunscreens also, of at least 30 SPF. Your skin needs the more gentle cleansing and the richest moisturizing treatments, while a healthy diet would regenerate it form the inside out. Avoid fried foods, junk foods, sugar, chocolate, alcohol or caffeine, foods that would dehydrate your body. Go for raw foods, vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts.
