lotions outdoors2Author: Joe Smith

Maintaining youthful skin with body lotions as we age isn’t a medical mystery. It’s perfectly attainable even for the average person to keep a healthy skin tone and texture into old age with these types of products. How do we do it? These body lotions, especially certain types of green tea body lotions, do wonders for our skin in the long term. These types of plant-based lotions and products are rich in anti-oxidants which help with the anti-aging process. There are other types of body lotions and products that we’ll discuss in this article that do great things for your skin, while providing you with the silky skin texture that you want to attain.

Along with body lotions, body butters are essential in keeping our skin healthy and lubricated. Body butters keep our skin soft and supple, which reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other fine lines such as crow’s feat. Many of these body butters, when used along with body lotions, contribute to skin care through the removal of free radicals, while providing the skin with essential vitamins and nutrients.

Body creams are another type of product, when used in conjunction with certain types of body lotions, that provide our skin with the moisture it needs in order to keep wrinkles and sun-caused blemishes away. Body creams, much like body lotions and butters, soften the skin and provide certain types of vitamins (namely, vitamin E) to our skin to help it regenerate after exposure to the sun or other environmental pollutants.

Body washes should be an essential part of a person’s skin care arsenal. Most types of body washes contain moisturizers that battle the aging process, while also unclogging pores and helping to remove dead skin. These body washes remove oil and dirt from the skin, giving it a natural, healthier appearance versus the use of normal bar soap.

Using body scrubs along with body washes is another way to slough off old skin while opening pores and allowing your body lotions to do their work easier. This opening of your pores allows those body lotions to more easily seep in, better moisturizing your skin to deeper levels.

Green tea body lotions are all the rave right now, and should be looked into if you’re looking for a product that will all but revolutionize the way that your skin looks and feels. Not only is green tea a powerful anti-oxidant (as mentioned above), it helps your skin rebuild collagen that may have been damaged by excessive UV-A and UV-B exposure.

Hand Lotions

5-Ways-with-Hand-Lotion_full_article_verticalAuthor: Valerie Rosenbaum

Finding a hand lotion to lighten age spots can be frustrating. Most of the products on the market are not meant to be used as moisturizers, but only to inhibit melanin production. That means that you must apply it only to the spot. Otherwise, you will “bleach” the natural color of your skin. Unless you are looking to lighten a tan, you don’t need or want to inhibit melanin production.

Melanin protects the deeper layers of the skin from UV damage that can cause cancer. That’s why your body produces it. It is not working against you, but for you. Sometimes, clumps of melanin-rich cells form a heavily pigmented area that is very similar to a freckle, only larger. This happens most often in fair skinned people and is usually caused by a sun burn.

Repairing damage done is possible, but you don’t really need a specific hand lotion to lighten age spots. Inhibiting melanin production should be a last resort.

Start by looking for a good body lotion that contains anti-aging ingredients, such as jojoba, olive oil, grape seed oil and coenzyme Q10. Jojoba has been shown to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks. It lightens and helps heal scars. It may be beneficial for lightening age spots, without lightening the surrounding skin.

Olive and grape seed oil provides vitamin E and essential fatty acids, very similar to those that are found in sebum, the skin’s natural moisturizer. Numerous studies have shown that creams containing coenzyme Q10 have a dramatic effect on the skin’s health and appearance. It is beneficial for repairing all sorts of sun damage. That’s why you may not need a specific hand lotion to lighten age spots. You just may need a lotion that is better than what you are currently using.

Most body lotions on the market are composed primarily of mineral oil, petrolatum or liquid paraffin. These are cheap ingredients and most manufacturers feel that people will not pay more for body lotions. Personally, I am willing to pay for value and effectiveness. I believe that most people are.

But, the major companies could not provide effective ingredients at a cost that anyone could afford. Their advertising budget takes too much of a bite out of their profit margin. Effective ingredients are costly and they would price themselves right out of the market if they chose to include them. That wouldn’t make their shareholders happy.

If you try a lotion that includes the good ingredients mentioned above and find that you still want a hand lotion to lighten age spots, you might try a nighttime face cream containing Shea butter. Shea butter is well known for its ability to lighten brown spots, freckles and other heavily pigmented areas.

If you decide to choose the last resort of melanin inhibition, look for an ingredient called EXTRAPONE nut-grass. It has proven safety and effectiveness. Do not buy creams containing hydroquinone. They are expensive, cause allergic reactions and may increase your risk of skin cancer. The ingredient has even been banned in some countries.

Now you know about alternatives for a hand lotion to lighten age spots. You’ll be grateful, in a very short time.

Aloe-Skin-LotionAuthor: Julia Schwartz

Knowing how to take care of your skin is something everyone should know, not only when you have a problem skin. You should have a few of the basic products at your disposal on a daily basis and one of them is skin care body lotion. Which type of lotions you need depends on the skin type that you have.

Do you know the type of your skin?

There is a really simple trick to determine the skin type that you have. Take a piece of tissue paper, toilet paper will also do, and place that piece on your forehead. Know you have to watch what happens, if it falls of the your skin is dry but when it sticks your skin is probably to oily. Don’t come to that last conclusion after 30 seconds, it really has to stay on for more then five minutes, when it falls of after one or two minutes your skin is normal or a so called combination skin.

Selecting the right product

Now we need to choose the right skin care body lotion for you and there is a large selection to choose from. Hundreds, if not thousands, of products are available and you need to find the one that is perfect for you. This will take some time, and you should take your time and think before you buy. There are a few body lotion product that are worth mentioning here.

Organic Juicy Lime Nourishing Body Cream

This product is a nourishing and very rich body cream. It has a high concentration of anti-aging antioxidants that are very powerful, these will help to take off some years of body and face. Another thing that this body lotion will do is that it will repair any damage you may have and also prevent any more damage occurring with your skin.

Breathe Moisture Wrap In-Shower Body Lotion

This is a body lotion that is designed in such a way that you can use it while you are in the shower. It is a highly hydrating skin treatment, containing Shea Butter, and it will provide your body with a thorough moisture, this is done because of the humidity and warmth of the shower. Because this is a body lotion there is no need to use any other product when your done showering, if you still want to use something extra you can of course.

These are just a few examples that stand out and should be mentioned but there of course many more products you can use as a skin care body lotion. The only way to find out which is best for you is to try out a few of them.

Beware of the fact that a lot of these products don’t come cheap. Keep in mind that you will be using this product on a daily basis and you will be buying more of it if you like using it. Being expensive doesn’t mean the product is the only good one out there, most of the times a less expensive product is just as good, often you pay mostly for the name on the bottle.

If you are shopping for the best firming lotion, you might start by looking for a skin firming lotion review. You’ll find some good information in the reviews, but they don’t provide all of the info that you need, if you want to avoid an adverse reaction AND get results.

Lotions are classified as cosmetics and, as such, there aren’t a lot of rules concerning what “can” and what “can’t” be included in a product. Safety testing is not required in most countries, even though serious allergic reactions have been reported time and time again. According to a survey conducted by the US Food and Drug Administration, 25% of the respondents had experienced an adverse reaction to a cosmetic, at some point in the past. With a percentage that high, you might think that an effort would be made to protect the consumer.   But, it is up to us to protect ourselves and find something effective. The best firming lotion that I have found is safe and effective. Of course, I did the research, before I bought it. I read one skin firming lotion review after another. One of the first things that I noticed was that the results were not consistent. The same product might get a dozen reviews, but only a small percentage of the customers are satisfied.   As I was getting ready to read yet another skin firming lotion review, I realized that it was time to reorder my vitamins. I’ve been ordering from the same company for years and, as I was browsing the website, I found that they had developed and were ready to release a new line of skincare products. They had

specific ideas about what the best firming lotion should and should not contain. As a health supplement company, they wanted to be sure that none of the ingredients in their products were common allergens or irritants.   Usually, when you see a report of an adverse reaction in a skin firming lotion review, the reason is an artificial preservative, a fragrance ingredient, collagen or urea. Other ingredients can also cause allergic reaction or irritation, but those are the most likely culprits. Companies could easily prevent many of these problems simply by excluding those ingredients. Whenever you see a label warning you to discontinue use if redness occurs, you will know that the product contains known allergens, irritants or both and I would suggest that you never try it at all.

It was the research that convinced me that the product I use was the best firming lotion. Researchers reported a 42% increase in firmness after 18 days of continued use and no adverse reactions. The cream was designed to delay and help reverse the signs of aging. Lost firmness is, of course, often seen in older people.   So, the next time that you read a skin firming lotion review, you’ll know a little more about what the best firming lotion can do. It can be good for your skin’s health and improve your appearance, too.
