Are you struggling with skin problems? Do you look at people with perfect and flawless skin and wonder how they got that “lucky?” The truth is that many people are born with perfect and flawless skin but that does not mean you cannot have it. Even if you have skin that is far from perfect you can still have great skin. What most people fail to realize is that its within your power to affect your skin – much more than you may think.

If you are constantly battling with skin problems then its likely that you have certain habits that affect you negatively. Some of these habits might be lifestyle but in the majority of cases its your diet. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and your diet affects the health of your skin profoundly. With that in mind, here are a few simple tips to help you.

- Saturated fats

A diet that is high in saturated fats can be very detrimental to the health of your skin. This is very common with a diet that consists of fast food. Pizza, hamburgers, chips – all these foods that come straight out of a deep fryer is almost guaranteed to give you bad skin. Try and cut these foods out of your diet completely and focus instead on eating healthy fats – fats that can be found in foods like salmon and avocado.

- Sugar and fizzy drinks

Soda pop as its commonly know is basically carbonated sugary drinks that is incredibly high in sugar (to compensate the bitterness of the carbonation), artificial colors and preservatives. Just look at the side of any can and you will see that the ingredients look like a science experiment. Even so-called sugar-free drinks are extremely high in artificial sweeteners which is very bad for the health of your skin. Drinking a lot of water is vital for the health of your skin. It cleanses and hydrates – two vital components to help keep your skin healthy.

- Fresh fruit and veg

You probably don’t want to hear this but one of the best ways to improve your skin is to start eating a lot of green vegetables. Its high in nutrients and essential vitamins that helps to clean and nourish your skin. Why not give this a try? Eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day for just one week and see what it does for you.
