Permanent makeup is quickly gaining momentum as the latest trend in cosmetic surgery. Permanent makeup application offers purely cosmetic benefits, but can also provide an enhancement to reconstructive plastic surgery.

Is Permanent Makeup for Me?

Many people dread the daily makeup ritual. Makeup can not only be expensive, but it often smudges and fades within a few hours of application. Permanent makeup can be the answer for people who want to enjoy the benefits of makeup without the attendant hassle.

Permanent makeup is also a good alternative for makeup allergies. Vision and motor skills are other common reasons to choose permanent makeup application. Applying makeup can be a difficult process for many, and permanent makeup creates flawless enhancement.

Permanent Makeup Procedure

Permanent makeup is essentially a tattoo. The procedure uses colored ink administered through a cosmetic tattooing needle. Permanent makeup application usually requires two treatments; a touch-up session about once a year may be required to maintain vivid results.

Permanent Makeup for the Eyes

Permanent eye makeup can be applied as an eye shadow or eye liner. Permanent eye liner can be performed by a certified technician in a cosmetic outpatient facility. Permanent eye shadow, however, requires expertise. Look for a certified technician with a great deal of experience.

Permanent Makeup for the Eyebrows

Permanent makeup for eyebrows is a good way to add definition to eyebrows. Many people who have experienced hair loss due to cancer treatment or conditions such as alopecia turn to permanent eyebrow applications to emulate the appearance of hair. Permanent eyebrows can also cover up hair loss due to waxing or tweezer mistakes.

The Lips and Permanent Makeup Application

Permanent makeup for the lips can create full, defined and more colorful lips. Permanent lip liner adds symmetry and definition to thinner lips. Permanent makeup for the entire lips creates full, more colorful lips. Permanent makeup applied to the entire lips can also soften wrinkles.

Combining Permanent Makeup Application With Other Cosmetic Plastic Surgery

Permanent makeup application can be combined with other forms of cosmetic plastic surgery to achieve better results. Many cosmetic reconstructive procedures, such as hair transplant and breast reconstruction require permanent makeup. For example, permanent makeup is used as part of breast reconstruction surgery to help reconstruct the areola. Risks Associated With Permanent Makeup Application

Because permanent makeup is essentially a tattoo, the risks are similar. Permanent makeup application can cause infection if needles are not sterilized. Swelling and bumps can form around the permanent makeup application. Symptoms usually subside with time. An allergic reaction to the ink is uncommon, but can create serious difficulties. There is also the risk of scars, especially among people prone to keloid formation.

The Cost of Permanent Makeup Application

The cost for permanent makeup has many variables. Some procedures require a higher level of professional expertise, and will cost more. Location of the facility is also a factor. Permanent makeup application will cost less in densely populated regions. As a general guideline, the cost for permanent makeup starts at about $350, and includes the second session. More complicated procedures can cost thousands.

Anti-Aging Skin Care – How To Keep Your Skin Youthful And Glowing

Best_Anti_Aging_Skin_CareAuthor: Abhishek Agarwal

The worst-kept secret is out: men and women equally care about their looks. Not so many are openly talking about it, but both sexes seem pretty much pre-occupied about how to hold back the advancing years. Although most people relish the thought of getting wiser with age, an even bigger number of them wishes that none of it would show in their faces.

Happily for everyone, the accent of facial skin care today brushes something about anti-aging. The uninitiated may ask: What is anti-aging facial skin care? It is a series of steps that one employs to maintain for a longer time a youthful and fresh look. Anti-aging skin care is essentially about protecting the skin from effects of the aging process and increasing resistance to disease.

Aging is, of course, a natural and inevitable process. We can only sort of delay it, but never stop it altogether. It is important to understand that it happens to everyone and how severely time ravages our bodies depends to a very large extent on how we take care of our bodies. Therefore it is never too early nor too late to embark on an anti-aging strategy that aims primarily to cushion the harsh impact of the whole aging process on our physicque and physical appearance.

We start to age the moment the sun rises, literally and figuratively speaking. Anti-aging skin care should not therefore be started on the very day we notice the first crease on our forehead. Honest to goodness anti-aging skin care builds on and follows through a proper skin care program that needs to be established as early as our teens and all the way to adulthood.

So when do we get serious about it? The following aging signs should prompt an intensified anti-aging skin care regimen: forgetfulness, wrinkle formation, graying hair, impaired vision or hearing, baldness in men, and menopause in women. If you notice the appearance of any of these aging “alerts”, then it is time to escalate your anti-aging skin care routine. It is time to re-assess whether your old routine still suits you or it needs to be updated or revised.

Note that no mention has been made of “starting” an anti-aging skin care regimen. We can, however, suggest measures known to have complemented well the skin care program that is already in place. Examples of these are eating more fruits and vegetables, avoiding stress and tension, drinking lots of water, proper and regular discharge of body wastes, and applying natural means of therapy. All of these have been recognized to aid staying the onslaught of the aging process.

Along with them should be revisiting your current skin care program. Does it continue to work? Should you modify it to accommodate alternative anti-aging skin care ideas? Which products should be used to attain optimum results?

When you find the answers to these, you should be properly equipped with enough means to hold aging at bay. Just remember that growing old is unavoidable. But nobody said you should not delay it while you can.

Skin Care For Men and Women – Are They Really Different?

Skintelligence Skin Care LineAuthor: Dorothy A. Pela

Let’s face it; skin care for men had been a forbidden subject for a long time. You see, up until recently it was not considered a very “masculine” thing for a man to care for the looks of his face, let alone walk into a store and buy creams or lotions!  But, things have certainly changed. According to sales statistics, the men skin care industry is thriving.
Men are becoming more conscious of the way they look and a healthy, young, radiant and smooth male face is an important ticket to success, both on a social as well as on a professional level.
It is true, however, that so far the skin care industry has been geared into designing creams that cater to the needs of the female skin, rather than the male. The question is:  Are there so many differences between skin care for men and women, so as to make necessary the design of wholly different products for the two sexes?  The answer to this question is a no and a yes: No, there are not very distinct differences and yes, there are some subtle differences that should be taken into consideration.
First, the similarities. The basic biological mechanisms that are responsible for aging are the same, regardless whether you are a man or a woman.
These are:  1) Depletion of your body’s own stock of collagen and elastin.  In case you have never heard of them before, these are two of the most important proteins that are produced by your skin. These are the underlying cause that your skin looks firm and smooth. When you are young, there is no problem, as these proteins are produced in abundance. However, when you get older, their production starts decreasing. That’s when wrinkles start to appear and sagging becomes noticeable.
A high quality skin care for men and women should include ingredients that stimulate your skin to produce more collagen and elastin.  One such ingredient that I personally use (by the way, my husband also uses it and loves it) and recommend, is Cynergy TK. This is amazing stuff.
It has been clinically proven to stimulate the generation of both collagen and elastin and also help create entirely new cells. 2) The second biological process responsible for aging is skin cell damage by free radicals. These are atoms or groups of atoms that are created primarily by our exposure to the harmful UV sun radiation and the various toxins that we come into contact in our daily lives.  Therefore, a high quality men skin care should include powerful antioxidants that will eliminate those harmful radicals.  One such ingredient is Phytessence Wakame.
This has Japanese origin and is all natural, extracted from a kind of seaweed collected from the sea around Japan. It high antioxidant potency has been clinically proven beyond any doubt.  As mentioned above, effective skin care for men should also take into consideration the special needs of male skin.  In contrast to women, men have to shave and they are generally more exposed to the hardships of outdoor activities. Therefore, male skin suffers from inflammation and irritation.
A solution to this particular men skin care need is provided once again by Cynergy TK. By its chemical activity on PGE2 (a substance created from inflammation), it effectively blocks it and so prevents inflammation and redness of the skin.

Hand Lotions

5-Ways-with-Hand-Lotion_full_article_verticalAuthor: Valerie Rosenbaum

Finding a hand lotion to lighten age spots can be frustrating. Most of the products on the market are not meant to be used as moisturizers, but only to inhibit melanin production. That means that you must apply it only to the spot. Otherwise, you will “bleach” the natural color of your skin. Unless you are looking to lighten a tan, you don’t need or want to inhibit melanin production.

Melanin protects the deeper layers of the skin from UV damage that can cause cancer. That’s why your body produces it. It is not working against you, but for you. Sometimes, clumps of melanin-rich cells form a heavily pigmented area that is very similar to a freckle, only larger. This happens most often in fair skinned people and is usually caused by a sun burn.

Repairing damage done is possible, but you don’t really need a specific hand lotion to lighten age spots. Inhibiting melanin production should be a last resort.

Start by looking for a good body lotion that contains anti-aging ingredients, such as jojoba, olive oil, grape seed oil and coenzyme Q10. Jojoba has been shown to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks. It lightens and helps heal scars. It may be beneficial for lightening age spots, without lightening the surrounding skin.

Olive and grape seed oil provides vitamin E and essential fatty acids, very similar to those that are found in sebum, the skin’s natural moisturizer. Numerous studies have shown that creams containing coenzyme Q10 have a dramatic effect on the skin’s health and appearance. It is beneficial for repairing all sorts of sun damage. That’s why you may not need a specific hand lotion to lighten age spots. You just may need a lotion that is better than what you are currently using.

Most body lotions on the market are composed primarily of mineral oil, petrolatum or liquid paraffin. These are cheap ingredients and most manufacturers feel that people will not pay more for body lotions. Personally, I am willing to pay for value and effectiveness. I believe that most people are.

But, the major companies could not provide effective ingredients at a cost that anyone could afford. Their advertising budget takes too much of a bite out of their profit margin. Effective ingredients are costly and they would price themselves right out of the market if they chose to include them. That wouldn’t make their shareholders happy.

If you try a lotion that includes the good ingredients mentioned above and find that you still want a hand lotion to lighten age spots, you might try a nighttime face cream containing Shea butter. Shea butter is well known for its ability to lighten brown spots, freckles and other heavily pigmented areas.

If you decide to choose the last resort of melanin inhibition, look for an ingredient called EXTRAPONE nut-grass. It has proven safety and effectiveness. Do not buy creams containing hydroquinone. They are expensive, cause allergic reactions and may increase your risk of skin cancer. The ingredient has even been banned in some countries.

Now you know about alternatives for a hand lotion to lighten age spots. You’ll be grateful, in a very short time.

Witch Hazel Lotion

Witch Hazel, a shrub, or small tree, is a twisted plant that grows in the northern regions of the United States as well as some parts of Canada. Witch Hazel is used to make a witch hazel lotion, as well as an astringent, and other cosmetic and health care preparations, not the least of which is a rub for hemorrhoids.   Witch hazel lotion has long been touted as a cure all for many different kinds of ailments, up to and including poor circulation and was used extensively by the Native Americans as a soother and in some cases internally to help with stomach problems.   Witch hazel lotion of course is most commonly recommended for external use only, but its multiple natural ingredients make it among the most helpful and often used of the astringents.   Witch hazel trees, and likewise, the witch hazel lotion contains a great deal of tannin that has the effect of drying and drawing, which have been shown to cause a tightening of the proteins that are present in the skin, meaning it will act as an astringent to any small cuts or scrapes. The witch hazel lotion will act as a sort of natural bandage of sorts, to prevent further inflammation of the cut or scrape.   Even more than this, Witch Hazel, and hence witch hazel lotions made from the extracts, have been proven by studies (perhaps due to the flavonoids it is conjectured) to be helpful to the blood vessels that lie beneath the surface of the skin.   Witch Hazel lotion can be helpful when you require relief from the inflammation and swelling that may accompany an outbreak of eczema, and will even help to cure it when placed where the skin is less broken down, around the area, and will help to prevent it from becoming further inflamed, as well as to prevent infection while the skin is broken down.   For those of us who want to look the best we can, witch hazel lotion has been helpful in healing affected small veins on the face. It will actively help to heal veins such as in the cheeks or neck area, and in fact, tightens pores, and may actually minimize the appearance of tiny lines and wrinkles. Speaking for myself, If I knew nothing more than that, I’d be interested in knowing a whole lot more about witch hazel lotion.
